Tonight's World Series of Fighting main event changed at last minute, Markes out of cursed tournament

Ronnie Markes, scheduled to face David Branch in the main event of tonight’s World Series of Fighting show on NBC Sports, had to pull out due to dehydration after attempting to make weight.

Branch will now face Jesse McElligott (5-1) in a semifinal in a cursed tournament for their light heavyweight title.

McElligott was scheduled for an undercard fight against Steve Skrzat on the show in Manshantucket, CT.

Two weeks ago in Phoenix, in the other tournament semifinal, Matt Hamill pulled out at the last minute of his fight with Thiago Silva, citing an illness.  Teddy Holder, the late sub, knocked Silva out in the first round.
